Steps for the preparation of Greek yogurt and mint sauce
To prepare the delicious Greek yogurt and mint sauce, carefully wash the parsley and mint leaves under running water. Dry them with a paper towel and finely chop them with a knife on a cutting board. Avoid using a food processor to prevent oxidizing them and preserve their color and freshness
In a bowl, pour the Greek yogurt and extra virgin olive oil. Add the mint leaves
and the chopped parsley leaves and lemon juice, then mix everything with a teaspoon and adjust the salt.
Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 20–30 minutes. This allows the flavors to blend better
You can serve it cold as a dipping sauce or at room temperature as a spread. Ideal for summer dishes!
Storage and Advice
For a more oriental version, add a pinch of cumin or coriander powder.
It keeps in the fridge for two or three days stored in an airtight container or a tightly sealed food container
Before use: take it out 10–15 minutes before to let it return slightly to room temperature and mix well before serving.
Attention: being yogurt-based and using fresh ingredients, it is important not to leave it out of the fridge for more than 1 hour
