Preparation for the Seared Tuna and Tomato Salad

  • For the salad preparation, clean and wash the tuna, I used 4 medium slices, and set aside.
Wash and dice the tomatoes, peel the garlic.
In a pan, sauté the garlic with a little olive oil, as soon as it becomes slightly golden, add the tomatoes, stir, season with salt, and cook for about 7 minutes, just when they are seared and slightly wilted, then add the olives and capers.

  • Remove the garlic cloves, mix well, and then pour the seared tomatoes onto a plate.
In the same pan, sear the tuna slices, season with salt, and turn them until well cooked, about 5-7 minutes, depending on the thickness of the slices.

  • Let the tuna cool slightly, then clean it by removing the skin, central bone, and any fins.
Cut the tuna into pieces and add it to the tomato pieces, pour everything into the pan, heat for a few minutes, then plate and serve the tuna salad with fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil.
Feel free to add or remove according to your taste!
