CLASSIC APPLE PIE

You might not know, but my favorite dessert is undoubtedly the classic apple pie. So I plan to offer you endless versions, so get ready for a long, very long line of recipes for my favorite dessert. The first apple pies were very simple, consisting of a pastry crust and a filling of chopped apples, sugar, and spices. Over the centuries, recipes have been enriched with new ingredients and variations, leading to the modern apple pie, which can be prepared with different types of apples, spices, and other ingredients such as nuts, almonds, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, etc. This is the classic version, grandma’s version if you will, or at least my grandma’s, a soft and creamy cake, perfect for breakfast and snacks that everyone loves, young and old, or at least I loved and still love it a lot. You can serve it with a scoop of ice cream or cream on the side, delicious.

  • 1 1/2 lbs Apples
  • 1 Lemon (juice)

Tools

  • Electric whisk Moulinex HM450 PrepMix, Electric Hand Mixer, 450W Power, 5 Adjustable Speeds and a Turbo Button, 2 Stainless Steel Blades, 2 Dough Hooks, Comfortable Use, White and Grey
  • Springform pan Guardini Gardenia, Springform Pan 9.5 inch, Non-stick Coated Steel, Black Color
  • First, cut the apples into slices and sprinkle them with lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Set them aside.

Prepare the batter by whisking 3 egg yolks with the sugar using an electric whisk, in another container whip the 3 egg whites until stiff. Add the softened butter and the glass of milk to the yolks and whisk again.

Sift the flour and baking powder and gently add them to the batter, finally fold in the stiff egg whites mixing from top to bottom. Drain the apple slices well and add them to the rest. Leave some aside to decorate the top of the cake.

Pour everything into a greased and floured mold, place the remaining apple slices on top of the cake, bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes.
