The yogurt and cherry cream is a very easy and quick spoon dessert to prepare, without using the stove and with only two ingredients: lots of fresh fruit and plain yogurt. It’s a healthy, natural recipe, without preservatives, colorings, and no added sugars. This delicious and fresh cream can be made with all types of fresh fruit and, if left in the freezer, it can become a tasty ice cream snack. I used 4.4 oz glass jars that I use to make yogurt at home.

- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Medium
- Preparation time: 50 Minutes
- Portions: 4 servings
- Cooking methods: No cooking
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Spring, Summer
Ingredients
- 18 oz Sweet plain yogurt
- 18 oz Cherries
Preparation
1) Wash and pit the cherries. Blend them with 4 tablespoons of yogurt and distribute the mixture into the 4 jars, filling them halfway.
2) Add the remaining yogurt by spoonfuls, without mixing, until the jars are full. This way, the yogurt will sink into the cherry cream, creating a pleasant two-tone effect that even children will enjoy. Cover the jars with plastic wrap or use the respective lids and leave them in the freezer for half an hour.
The extra idea. If we want to turn them into ice creams, we will leave them in the freezer for at least an hour. If instead of cherries we want to use fruit that tends to brown, such as bananas, apples, peaches, apricots, etc., we must take care to add some tablespoons of orange juice to the fruit blended with yogurt; unlike lemon, orange is less sour and more pleasant even to children’s palates.
