Fun, tasty, and quick; that’s what these puff pastry bites are like. I flavored them with tomato and oregano, but you can use any other ingredient you like, such as pesto, olive tapenade, and more. They are excellent finger food, perfect to accompany a rustic aperitif with friends or as a snack. You can prepare them specifically or keep them in mind for when you have leftover puff pastry from other recipes. In short, they can also be seen as a kind of recycling recipe. Needless to say, they are super easy, and once brought to the table, they disappear in the blink of an eye. Try them too!

Ingredients for Puff Pastry Bites
In this recipe, I used a couple of tablespoons of tomato sauce that I had on hand. If you don’t have it, you can substitute it with any ready-made sauce or classic tomato pulp, slightly seasoned to enhance the flavor.
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- oregano
- Grana Padano cheese, grated (or Parmesan)
- salt
Tools
- Rolling pin
- Brush
- 1 Pizza cutter
- 1 Baking tray
Preparation of Puff Pastry Bites
Unroll the puff pastry, keeping it on the baking paper provided in the package, and gently roll over it with the rolling pin.
Then brush it with tomato sauce, sprinkle with dried oregano and a pinch of salt.
At this point, use a pizza cutter to cut into long strips about 6 or 7 mm wide.
Take each strip and create a “pile” directly on the baking tray lined with parchment paper (it doesn’t have to be precise, but try to make piles that grow upwards).
Finally, lightly brush the white parts of the puff pastry bites with tomato sauce and sprinkle them with grated cheese and another pinch of oregano.
Bake the puff pastry bites in a preheated static oven at 350°F for about 15 minutes.
Take them out of the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy! PaolaI’d like to remind you that you can follow me on various social channels to stay updated on the new recipes I publish.
