  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • to taste orange zest
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups dried fruits (mixed)
  • 3/4 cup orange jam (+ to brush on the surface)
  • 1 sprig red currant

How to make the Tart with Dried Fruits

  • In a bowl, crack the eggs and beat them with a fork, add the sugar, salt, and the grated orange zest. Then slowly pour in the oil, and gradually incorporate the flour, continuing to mix with the fork. Once the dough starts to come together, transfer it to a floured countertop; work it until you get a soft dough that doesn’t stick to your hands. If necessary, add more flour.

  • Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of about 1/4 inch; use two sheets of parchment paper to help with this step. Then line a tart pan with a diameter of 9-10 inches.

  • Prick the surface with a fork, then spread the jam, add the mixed dried fruits, and bake in a static oven at 350°F for 35 minutes. After the cooking time, let it cool, then brush it with a generous layer of jam.
