The oven baked gratinated prawn skewers are a simple, tasty, and refined dish, a quick recipe perfect for any occasion. The prawn skewers can be served as an appetizer, finger food, or main course, and they are great for lunch, dinner, or buffets.
My family loves this dish, especially my son, it’s a very delicious dish that we also order when dining at restaurants. So I thought, why not make it at home? Of course, you save a lot, and with the price you pay for a single dish at a restaurant, you can make several portions at home.
For this recipe, I recommend using large prawns; once cleaned and the head removed, they become half the size. Depending on your needs, you can use fresh prawns, but if you have doubts and don’t have a trusted fishmonger, you can also use frozen ones.
The gratinated prawns can be cooked in many ways, I preferred the oven method, which is very convenient, but they can also be cooked in a pan or on the grill.
The gratinated prawn skewers, with their golden and crunchy breading, should be served with a fresh salad and lemon slices.

Thread the prawns onto the skewers, at least 4 per stick, coat them in the breading, making sure it adheres well on both sides, then place the skewers in a baking dish and bake.
Bake the skewers under the oven grill for about 15 minutes, turning them during cooking.
When the prawn skewers are golden and gratinated, they are ready to be served.
Plate them and serve hot accompanied by a fresh salad and lemon wedges.
