Apple and Quince Jam
Since we are in the peak season for apples and quinces, let’s take advantage and stock up for the winter. Since I adore quince, I already made some Quince Jam last week, but since I had more quinces and apples, I decided to mix them and make a mixed jam. The result, of course, was excellent. I used organic fruit, which was necessarily a bit damaged, and I didn’t use any preservatives except for sugar, so the flavor is definitely different! If you like these apples, try this autumn jam!

Ingredients for Apple and Quince Jam:
- 2.2 lbs quinces (Cleaned)
- 1.1 lbs apples (Cleaned)
- 2 cups water
- 14 oz sugar
- lemon juice
Steps
Making the apple and quince jam is very simple, watch the video HERE.
First, we need to wash and clean the quinces (I recommend using the harder side of a new sponge to remove all the fuzz). We cut and clean them (mine were very damaged since they were organic, local). We put them in cold water with lemon to prevent them from browning.
We wash, clean, and cut the apples as well. In a pot, we put the quinces, apples, sugar, a bit of cinnamon,
We add the juice of half a lemon and the water. We cook on low heat for about an hour, stirring occasionally. When it’s ready, we blend it and immediately put it into previously sterilized jars.
We close them and turn them upside down to create a vacuum seal. If you want to preserve it longer, reboil the jars for about 20 minutes.
Enjoy!
