Savarine
Does it seem like it resembles a very well-known dessert?! Well yes, it is the Romanian version of the Neapolitan babà ☺️ the savarin is a French dessert that is very similar to the babà. These desserts are very easy to make, and the success largely depends on the quality of rum we will use (the higher the quality, the better the dessert). Consider that I made the savarine dough with a spoon, so it’s very simple and quick!

- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2/3 cup sugar

Steps
For the preparation of the savarine watch the video HERE.
Dough preparation:
Put the flour, yeast, sugar, milk, oil, eggs, a pinch of salt and mix well with a spoon for a few minutes.
Cover with cling film and let it rest for about 30 min. After about 30 min, put the dough into the molds filling them about 3/4 full.
Let it rise to the edge. Once it reaches the edge, bake at 350°F for about 30 min.
Syrup preparation:
Put the water and sugar.
Bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and add rum and rum flavor to taste. Let it cool.
Take the cooked and cooled savarine and cut the base leaving only a small piece attached (see the video HERE). Dip them in the previously prepared syrup. Wait a few minutes to let the syrup absorb well, then fill them with whipped cream.
Decorate as desired!
Enjoy your meal!
