An appetizing recipe, easy to prepare with a quick dough made with instant yeast, so it doesn’t require rising times, and a filling made with apples sautéed in a pan. To make it even more delicious, I fried them. Of course, if you want something lighter, you can bake them in the oven, but they are much tastier when fried. The turnovers are excellent as a dessert, snack, or afternoon treat!

Ingredients for Apple Turnovers:

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • 1 baking powder
  • 2 apples
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • ground cinnamon

  • Dough Preparation:

    Combine the butter, egg, sugar, and start mixing. Add the yogurt, flour, baking powder.

  • Continue kneading. Add the milk and proceed until you get a homogeneous mixture.

    Filling Preparation:

    Peel and slice the apples. In a pan, melt the butter, then add the sliced apples.

  • Add the sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Cut the dough into several pieces, take one piece at a time, and roll it out.

  • Add a bit of apple filling and seal well. Once ready, fry them for a few minutes in hot oil. Once done, place them on absorbent paper.

  • Then immediately coat them in sugar.

  • Enjoy your meal!
