Pear Tart

An autumn tart made with pears! A simple shortcrust pastry made with flour, sugar, eggs, and butter, then covered with a bit of jam (I chose lemon jam) and pears cooked in a pan with a bit of sugar. The tart is the perfect dessert if you’re visiting friends or family and don’t know what to bring, if you need a dessert for a snack, breakfast, or after a meal, in short, it’s the perfect dessert for any time!

Ingredients for the Pear Tart:

10-inch pan

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • salt
  • Half packet baking powder
  • lemon zest
  • 1 1/3 lbs pears
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup lemon jam ((lemons, citrus, etc))

Steps

  • Shortcrust Preparation:

    Start by working the room temperature butter with the sugar. Add the eggs, a bit of lemon zest, a pinch of salt, and mix well.

  • Add the flour and baking powder gradually. Knead quickly until you get a homogeneous dough. Wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

    Filling Preparation:

    Clean and cut the pears

  • add the sugar and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    After about 30 minutes, take 3/4 of the dough and roll it out on a piece of parchment paper, using a little flour if needed.

  • Place it in the greased pan and arrange it. Remove the excess dough. Prick the bottom. Divide the remaining dough into several pieces and roll them into strips. Place them on top to form circles. Put some jam on top in some areas.

  • add the pears in the spaces created. Bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes.
