Surely many have wondered at least once what tahini sauce is, how to make it, and what it is used for… it is a paste made from sesame seeds, typical of Middle Eastern cuisine. It has a dense consistency and a flavor reminiscent of toasted nuts or peanuts.
It is prepared by lightly toasting the sesame seeds, then grinding them until a creamy paste is obtained, often mixed with oil to improve its consistency. There are lighter or darker variants, depending on whether the seeds are toasted or not.

How to Prepare Tahini Sauce
Tahini sauce is a paste made from ground toasted sesame seeds, widely used in Middle Eastern cuisine. It has a rich and slightly toasted flavor, with a creamy and oily consistency. The first thing we do is toast the sesame seeds in a pan.
HOW TO MAKE IT: We place the seeds in a non-stick pan and toast them over low heat, being careful not to burn them. Now let them cool, then pour them into our blender jar along with the oil and blend them. We need to achieve a velvety sauce. The trick is to blend in stages, so as not to overheat the blender and its contents.
WHAT IT IS USED FOR: In the kitchen, tahini is a versatile ingredient:
Base for hummus – It is mixed with chickpeas, garlic, lemon, and olive oil to make the famous hummus. Here you find the recipe Chickpea Hummus or CHICKPEA AND PUMPKIN HUMMUS
Dressing for Mediterranean dishes – Used to flavor falafel, grilled vegetables, or meat.
Sauces and dressings – Mixed with lemon juice and water, it becomes a perfect sauce for salads or fish dishes.
Desserts – In some traditions, it is used in desserts, often with honey or molasses.WHY IT IS GOOD FOR YOU: Tahini sauce offers numerous nutritional benefits thanks to its main ingredient: sesame seeds. Here are some of its advantages:
