Ingredients

  • 8.5 tbsp butter (at room temperature)
  • 0.9 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.8 cup milk (warm)
  • 0.4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Nutella®
  • mini eggs (chocolate)

Tools

To make the Cocoa Nest Cake with Mini Eggs, you will need:

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Mixer
  • 1 Cake Pan

Steps

  • First, preheat the oven to 350°F, in static mode.

  • Dissolve the unsweetened cocoa in the warm milk. Beat the sugar and butter with an electric mixer until you get a light cream. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating at medium speed.

  • Incorporate the flour and baking powder, the dissolved cocoa in milk and a pinch of salt.

  • Pour the mixture into a bundt pan, buttered and floured, (if you use a silicone mold, it’s not necessary to butter and flour) distributing it evenly in the pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the skewer comes out clean. It took me 38 minutes.

  • Obviously, cooking times vary from oven to oven. To check the baking, insert a toothpick (or a piece of spaghetti) into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, it’s done. If it’s sticky and moist, the cake is not ready yet.

  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes on a metal rack, gently move the mold to ensure the cake detaches from the mold and demold.

  • Heat the Nutella for a minute in the microwave, put it in a piping bag and draw stripes on the surface of the cake to simulate the branches of the nest, and finally, insert the colored chocolate mini eggs.

  • Here’s the Cocoa Nest Cake with Mini Eggs ready. Enjoy your meal!
