Let’s make the Gingerbread Donuts together!
Start by melting the butter in a small pot, once melted let it cool down and move on to the next step.
In a bowl, pour the eggs and sugar, quickly mix with a spoon, then add the melted (and now warm) butter in a stream while continuing to stir.
Now add the water and mix it well with the rest of the mixture, still stirring with a spoon.
In the empty bowl, add flour, potato starch, baking powder, and all the indicated spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger), mix well to blend the powders.
Add the powder mixture to the bowl with the liquids and quickly stir with the spoon until you get a moderately thick and lump-free mixture (you can also see the consistency in the video!).
Divide the mixture by filling the silicone molds for the donuts (it makes exactly 8!), then place the filled molds in a baking tray (so you can move them more easily!).
Heat the oven to 356°F (180°C) and once it reaches temperature, bake and cook the donuts for 20 minutes, then turn off and let them cool completely before gently removing them from the molds.
Before serving, sprinkle powdered sugar on top and, if you like, decorate with Christmas-themed fondant decorations!
Tips
Towards the end of cooking, always do the toothpick test because each oven is different!
These gingerbread donuts stay soft and fluffy for 4 to 5 days if stored in an airtight container.
If you want to make them more delicious, you can also decorate with whipped cream before serving!
You can package them individually and give them as gifts for Christmas!
