Christmas Tree with Chocolate Puff Pastry

Christmas, as we know, is one of the favorite holidays for most people, especially children who see this occasion as the most intimate moment to spend with family. The hectic anticipation is also due to the many gifts received but also for the quantity of sweets present throughout December.

When it comes to sweets, during the December holidays, there are hundreds of recipes. Among the most varied, today I propose a very simple tree to make using simple puff pastry and melted milk chocolate.

The occasion is perfect for bringing a very nice homemade sweet to the table that many, both adults and children, will enjoy!

  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • as needed water

  • Baking Tray
  • Knife
  • Cookie Cutter star

Steps

Christmas Tree with Chocolate Puff Pastry

  • Begin and unroll the sheet of puff pastry on a work surface. Using a knife, cut the sheet into the shape of a Christmas tree.

  • Continue and cut out a star using a cookie cutter. Remove the remaining pastry outside the tree design and set it aside. You’ll need it to form small balls by hand, which you’ll later place on the tree.

  • At this point, place the tree on the baking tray and melt the chocolate in a double boiler by placing a smaller saucepan inside a larger one with boiling water. The chocolate will melt in the smaller pan without burning. Once melted, spread it over the entire tree surface and place the star on top.

  • Next, attach the puff pastry balls all over the surface except for the base. Place them randomly as you like.

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F, and once it reaches the temperature, bake the tree for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, form the icing by dissolving 2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar in a glass of water, mixing with a whisk. At the end of baking, pour the icing over the tree.

  • To finish, garnish with chocolate chips and colored sprinkles. Now you can serve your chocolate tree!

Tip!

You can use chopped pistachios or hazelnuts to add to the melted chocolate.
