The Caprese salad or tomato and mozzarella salad is appetizing and fresh and can be presented in many ways.
A cold dish that is easy and quick to prepare and can be served as an appetizer or as a main course.
As Il Giornale del Cibo reports, the Caprese salad has its origins on the beautiful Island of Capri and is the subject of many anecdotes.
Given the colors, we could call it “patriotic.”
Tomato and mozzarella pairing: yes or no?
According to some experts, tomato and mozzarella together provide too many minerals to the body and should be consumed together only after physical activity.
According to others, this conflict does not exist [Dr. Giorgio Calabrese].
In any case, cheeses should be consumed no more than twice a week, in small amounts, and fresh cheeses should be preferred.
