Ingredients for the Orange Cake

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 jar plain natural yogurt (125 grams)
  • 3 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 orange (untreated)
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 packet baking powder (8 grams)
  • as needed powdered sugar (for decoration)

What You Need to Make the Orange Dessert

  • Mixer
  • Cake Pan

How to Make the Orange Cake

  • To make this cake, choose an untreated orange to use both the juice and the grated zest. Wash the orange thoroughly, grate the zest, and squeeze it to get the juice.

  • Beat the whole eggs with the sugar using an electric mixer for 5-6 minutes until you have a light and frothy mixture.

  • Add the vegetable oil, orange zest, and juice. To make this cake, you need about 100-110 ml of orange juice, so if necessary, add another half an orange to reach the amount.

  • Add a jar of plain yogurt and mix.

  • Sift the flour and baking powder. Mix well. Pour the mixture into a 20 cm diameter cake pan greased or lined with baking paper. Bake the Orange Cake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 35-40 minutes.

  • Always do the “toothpick test” to check the baking inside the cake. Let the cake cool before transferring it to a serving plate and decorate it as you like with some powdered sugar.
