Soft Chocolate Tart

A tart made with a soft base using a “smart” mold with a double bottom so once it’s ready, we flip it over and can fill it right away! A very simple recipe that we can prepare in a short time and suitable for any kind of occasion; it can also be used as a birthday cake!

Ingredients for the soft chocolate tart:

(11-inch mold)

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 3 1/2 tbsps vegetable oil
  • Half packet baking powder for desserts
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • rum essence
  • 1 1/2 tbsps butter
  • 1 cup cup whipping cream
  • 4 1/4 oz mascarpone

  • Base preparation:

    In a bowl, put the eggs, sugar, and beat with electric whisks. Add the oil, milk and mix. Gradually add the sifted flour and mix.

  • Add the sifted baking powder and mix well. Brush with oil the smart mold (the one with the double bottom), flour it and pour in the mixture. Slightly tap to remove any air bubbles and bake for about 20/25 min at 350°F. Once ready, let it cool well, then flip it over and remove the mold.

  • Cream preparation:

    In a saucepan, put the sugar, cornstarch, cocoa and mix. Add milk a little at a time while stirring. Bring to the heat to thicken.

  • Stir occasionally. It will take a few minutes. Once thickened, turn off the heat then add the butter.

  • Add a bit of rum essence and mix. Cover with cling film and let cool. Once cooled, soften it with whisks for a few minutes.

  • Add the mascarpone and cream, and whip. Moisten the base with water, sugar, and flavors to taste. Spread the prepared cream on top using a piping bag.

  • Decorate to taste.

  • Enjoy your meal!
