  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3.5 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1 container plain yogurt (125 grams)
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips
  • 1.5 lbs pears
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 packet baking powder (8 grams)
  • to taste powdered sugar (for decoration)

What you need to prepare the Pear and Chocolate Cake

  • Baking Pan
  • Mixer

How to prepare the Pear Cake with Chocolate Chips

  • Clean the pears, cut half into cubes and the other half into slices. To prevent them from browning, cover them. Beat the 2 whole eggs with the sugar using an electric mixer for 6-7 minutes until you have a light and frothy mixture.

  • Add the melted butter and a container of plain yogurt. Mix.

  • Continue the preparation by adding the sifted flour, cinnamon, and baking powder. Mix.

  • Pour the cubed pears and chocolate chips into the batter. Stir with a spatula to incorporate them into the mixture.

  • Line a rectangular baking pan with parchment paper; mine measures 8.75 x 11 inches. Pour the batter inside, leveling it with the spatula.

  • Arrange the pear slices on the surface, letting them sink slightly into the batter. Also, distribute more chocolate chips.

  • Bake the Pear and Chocolate Cake in the preheated oven at 350°F in static mode for 35-40 minutes. Always do “the toothpick test” to check the internal doneness of the cake.

  • Let the Pear Cake cool before transferring it to a tray and decorating it with powdered sugar as desired.
See you tomorrow with a new recipe, hugs, Loredana

Loredana’s Tips

The cake remains soft in a container for 2-3 days, although due to the pears it tends to become slightly moist inside

If you prefer, you can substitute the butter with 50 ml of light olive oil or seed oil

You can replace the chocolate chips with 70 grams of dark chocolate in small pieces
