The orange and chocolate chip plum cake is easy to prepare, with eggs, yogurt, all-purpose flour, without butter, honey, chocolate, and of course orange. Apart from being delicious, it’s also healthy.

The ideal ally to serve as breakfast or snack especially for the little ones, great dunked in a cup of hot milk or tea, and you can even bring it to school, as my children do. Can we compare a healthy snack with store-bought snacks?

Ingredients for the Orange Scented Plum Cake

  • 1.6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.4 cups potato starch
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 orange
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2.8 oz chocolate chips
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 0.8 cups plain yogurt
  • 0.4 cups vegetable oil
  • as needed powdered sugar

Steps for Preparing the Orange Scented Plum Cake

To prepare the delicious orange and chocolate plumcake, start by washing an orange, cut it in half and squeeze it with a citrus juicer.

  • Then in a bowl crack the eggs and add the sugar and honey and with the electric mixer beat until you get a frothy mixture. At this point, add the plain yogurt

  • and, while keeping the electric mixer running, gradually add, first the vegetable oil and then the orange juice

  • then the baking powder, then the flour and the potato starch. Lastly, the chocolate chips. At this point, mix with a spatula from top to bottom.

  • Moisten a sheet of parchment paper under water and squeeze it with your hands so that it adheres perfectly to the mold and line the plum cake mold. Pour the batter in and, with the spatula, create a line in the middle to divide the batter in half and bake at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 45 minutes. Before removing from the oven, do the toothpick test.

  • Once baking is complete, remove from oven, let it cool completely, and then dust with plenty of powdered sugar and a grated orange zest and the yogurt, orange, and chocolate plumcake is ready to be served and.. enjoy your taste!
