Ingredients for the Orange Cake

  • 2 eggs
  • 110 g sugar
  • 2 oranges (untreated)
  • 3.5 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 0.5 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 packet baking powder (8 grams)
  • to taste powdered sugar (for decoration)

How to prepare the Orange Cake with Chocolate

  • Wash the oranges. Grate the zest of one orange and set it aside. Then squeeze the oranges to obtain the juice, for this recipe you need 130 ml of juice, so adjust accordingly.

  • Beat the 2 whole eggs with the sugar using an electric mixer for 7-8 minutes until you have a light and fluffy mixture.

  • Add the seed oil, orange zest, and juice. Mix.

  • Continue by adding the sifted flour and baking powder. Stir. Finally, add the chocolate chips. Mix with a spatula to incorporate them into the batter.

  • Pour the batter into a 20 cm diameter cake pan, preferably with a removable bottom, greased or lined with parchment paper. Bake the Orange and Chocolate Cake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for 35-40 minutes.

  • Always do the toothpick test to check for doneness inside. Let it cool before unmolding it onto a serving plate and decorate as desired with some powdered sugar.
