The winter mixed salad is made of radicchio, red apples, pomegranate, raspberries, and walnuts. It’s light and perfect for a cleansing day, to be accompanied by herbal teas and detox drinks. Pomegranate is considered a magical fruit, raspberries an elixir of wellbeing, the apple a natural medicine, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” and finally, walnuts are an important natural omega 3 supplement, and radicchio is an ally for our defenses, a mix of wellbeing, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants for our body brought together in a very easy salad to prepare.

Ingredients
- 1 Red Delicious apple (Stark)
- 1 head Treviso red radicchio IGP, early
- 1 pomegranate
- 6 walnuts
- 4.4 oz raspberries
- 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- salt
- pepper

- 1 Oval plate

Steps
Wash and dry the apple with a paper towel. Cut the apple into 4 quarters and remove the core. Slice it into thin slices about 1/8 inch thick, then cut each slice into sticks about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the radicchio in half lengthwise. Then slice it into julienne.
Seed the pomegranate and crack open the walnuts.
Arrange the apple, radicchio, pomegranate, raspberries, and walnuts on a serving platter.
In a bowl, prepare a dressing with oil, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
Pour the dressing over the salad and mix well.
