Tasty Roll

The tasty roll is a very appetizing dish, easy and quick to prepare.

Made of puff pastry with cheese and cooked ham filling.

It can be served as an appetizer or as a main course.

Both adults and children go crazy for it and it is a great dinner saver. If you pair it with a good vegetable dish, it makes a complete meal.

Crispy, tasty, and creamy inside, it conquers you at the first taste.

You can also serve it at birthday or party banquets. One roll makes about 6 servings.

Ingredients for the preparation of the tasty roll

  • 1 rectangular puff pastry
  • 3.5 oz cubed cooked ham
  • 1 cup stracchino cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 7 oz gorgonzola cheese

Steps for the preparation of the tasty roll

To prepare the delicious tasty roll, we begin by rolling out the rectangular puff pastry, leaving it on its parchment paper.

  • Then fold the pastry into three to obtain three equal parts and place it on a baking tray always laid out on parchment paper. Then with a cutter cut the side edges a centimeter thick and place the stracchino cut into pieces in the central part along with gorgonzola and cubed ham, leaving the ends free, as in the photo.

  • At this point, seal the central part with the fringes obtained by overlapping them one above the other, like a braid, and the ends by rolling the pastry on itself. Finally, with a brush brush the surface with the egg yolk.

  • Bake at 350°F for about half an hour in a static oven, while in air fryer mode at 340°F for 20 minutes, until golden. Serve hot to enjoy all the crispness and creaminess.

Tips and Notes

The tasty roll keeps in the fridge for two days and before serving I recommend reheating it in the oven for a few minutes at 320°F.
