Hemp seed flour bread is a dark-colored, soft-textured bread.
The dough is prepared with hemp flour, four-grain flour, and type 1 flour. Nutritionally, it is much richer than regular bread.
Hemp flour, aside from being gluten-free, is rich in fatty acids, vitamins, amino acids, and fibers.
The four-grain flour is a mix of various grains, each with specific properties that benefit our body, such as energy substances and proteins.
Type 1 flour is stone-ground, making it less refined than 00 flour and retaining wheat properties.
We can conclude that this bread is a real source of wellness.
Thanks to its soft texture, it’s ideal for dipping or making great sandwiches.

Ingredients for preparing hemp bread

- 1/2 cup hemp flour
- 1 1/2 cups multigrain flour
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 tsp instant dry yeast

- 1 tsp sugar
Tools for preparing hemp bread
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Pastry board
- 1 Parchment paper
- 1 Wooden spoon
- 1 Measuring cup
- 1 Teaspoon
Steps for preparing hemp bread
To prepare hemp bread, start by taking a bowl and pour in the type 1 flour, the hemp flour, and the multigrain flour. Then, with a wooden spoon, mix well. Meanwhile, in a measuring cup, pour lukewarm water and add instant dry yeast and a teaspoon of sugar and dissolve by stirring with a teaspoon. Then pour the water with the dissolved yeast into the bowl containing the flours and with a wooden spoon, mix roughly and then pour the dough onto a pastry board
and knead energetically with your hands until you get a compact dough. If it’s too sticky, add a little type 1 flour. Once you have the dough, take the parchment paper and place the dough on it, shaping it as you like. I gave it a rustic oval shape, and place it on the oven rack (for better baking, the oven rack is perfect).
And let it rise for about 5 hours, until it doubles, directly in the turned-off oven with the door slightly ajar.
Once it has risen, take it out of the turned-off oven and preheat the oven to 392°F (200°C), once the temperature is reached, bake it and cook for 20 minutes, then lower the temperature to 356°F (180°C) and cook for another 20 minutes.
Storage and Notes
Hemp bread keeps up to four days stored in a paper bag, which is then placed in a tightly sealed plastic bag.
