Ingredients for Puff Pastry Squares with Sausage
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 0.88 lbs sausage
- 7 oz stracchino cheese
- to taste salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- 4 tbsps milk (for brushing)
- 3 tbsps mixed seeds (for decorating)
How to Prepare Sausage and Stracchino Puff Pastries
Remove the sausage casing and transfer the sausage meat to a bowl. Simply mash it with a fork.
Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper. Mix.
Add the stracchino to the sausage and mix well to combine the ingredients.
Unroll a rectangular puff pastry sheet on the work surface and divide it into 3 parts lengthwise. Place a strip of sausage mixture in the center of each of the 3 parts.
Using the parchment paper, fold the puff pastry over the filling to form a filled pastry roll. Prepare the 3 rolls in the same way.
Divide each puff pastry roll into 7-8 portions. Place the sausage bites slightly spaced apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush them with milk and decorate with seeds. Bake the sausage pastries in a preheated oven at 375°F in static mode for 26-28 minutes.

Loredana’s Tips
If there are any Pastries left, store them in a container for 1-2 days. Just reheat them for a few minutes in a hot oven or microwave. You can also prepare them in advance, freeze them on a tray without baking, and once frozen, transfer them to a food bag so they’re ready to bake when needed.
You can substitute stracchino with an equal amount of crescenza
