“How good are those things here!” These were the first words I said after tasting these chickpeas in the air fryer. The following words were “these things are addictive.” It’s easy to see, then, how good they are. They are a delicious and super tasty snack, perfect to serve at an aperitif instead of the classic peanuts. But I bet that after tasting them, you will prepare them very often to munch on in front of the television. Moreover, they are very easy and quick to prepare. And then, who doesn’t have a can of chickpeas at home! Unexpected guests? No problem, the snack is served!

Ingredients for Air Fryer Chickpeas
Above, I wrote that these quantities are for 4 people. Know that I could have eaten them all by myself.
- 8.5 oz canned chickpeas (drained weight)
- Half teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 0.25 oz cornstarch
- black pepper
Tools
- 1 Colander
- Paper towel
- 1 Bowl
- Air fryer
Preparation of Chickpeas in Air Fryer
Drain the chickpeas from their preserving liquid and rinse them thoroughly under running water.
Then transfer them onto a towel or kitchen paper and dry them by patting them well. During this phase, many skins will come off. You can decide whether to remove them or keep them. I assure you that after the air fryer step, they are delicious too.
Once dry, place them in a bowl and season them with a couple of tablespoons of oil, half a teaspoon of salt, and a generous grind of black pepper.
Then add a teaspoon of paprika and a tablespoon of cornstarch (about 0.25 oz).
Mix everything well until the chickpeas are perfectly coated with the seasoning.
Meanwhile, preheat the air fryer for a few minutes at 392°F (200°C).
Then pour the seasoned chickpeas into the fryer basket: I first inserted a sheet of parchment paper suitable for the fryer.
Cook the chickpeas in the air fryer at 392°F (200°C) for 15 minutes. Remove them and let them cool slightly before serving. They are good at room temperature too, but they are the best when warm! Enjoy! Paola
