My plan is pretty clear: I make the pizza-style breadsticks and eat them all. Uh, no! Did I really think that? I meant: I make the pizza-style breadsticks and make everyone happy. And that’s how it went! They are delicious, and when I think about how easy they are to make, I love them even more. No kneading, no rising, and they’re ready in a flash because you use a store-bought pizza base. In short… a clever recipe, very clever indeed, fully endorsed.

Ingredients for Pizza-Style Breadsticks
- 1 roll ready-to-use pizza base
- 0.5 oz tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons water
- dried oregano
- extra virgin olive oil
- salt
Tools
- 1 Small Bowl
- 1 Brush
- 1 Pizza Cutter
- 1 Baking Sheet
Preparation of Pizza-Style Breadsticks
Place the tomato paste in a small bowl, soften it with a couple of teaspoons of water, and season with a drizzle of oil, a pinch of salt, and some oregano. Adjust the water by eye: you should obtain a soft but not liquid sauce.
Unroll the rectangle of ready-to-use pizza dough and brush it entirely with a thin layer of sauce, keeping some aside because it will be used to brush the surface of the breadsticks once they are ready.
At this point, use a pizza cutter to cut strips slightly less than 3/4 inch wide, starting from the long side of the rectangle.
Fold each strip in half and seal the final end by lightly pressing with your fingers.
Then twist the breadstick as shown in the photograph, holding the two ends in your hands and twisting them in opposite directions.
Gradually place the pizza-style breadsticks on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper, keeping them slightly apart from one another.
Finally, brush them with the sauce set aside and sprinkle with more dried oregano.
Bake the pizza-style breadsticks in a preheated static oven at 374°F (190°C) for 15 minutes or until they are golden.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy! Paola
