How to Make the Christmas Orange and Chocolate Cake

  • To prepare this dessert, you need an untreated orange to use its peel. Wash the orange well. Beat the 2 whole eggs with the sugar using an electric mixer for 7-8 minutes until you get a light and frothy mixture.

  • Add the grated zest of the orange to the eggs, and the melted butter. Squeeze the orange to extract juice and add it to the eggs. You need about 100 ml of orange juice, if that is not enough, add the juice of another half orange. Mix.

  • Add the sifted flour and baking powder. Mix well. Finally, add the chocolate chips and the candied orange peel cut into small cubes. Mix the batter well with a spatula.

  • Mix the batter well with a spatula. Grease a 9-inch diameter bundt pan. Pour the mixture into it.

  • Distribute the sliced almonds and sugar crystals over the surface. Bake the Orange Cake in a preheated oven at 350°F in static mode for 35-40 minutes.

  • Always perform the “toothpick test” to check the cooking inside the cake. Let the Christmas Bundt Cake cool before unmolding it onto a serving plate. Decorate it as desired with powdered sugar.

This Bundt Cake stays soft and moist in a container for 3 days.

If the candied orange peels are very dry and hard, I recommend microwaving them for 20 seconds. They will become soft and delightful
