The Christmas Star is a variation of the traditional panettone. Let’s bring some originality to our tables while keeping the original taste. Soft, chocolatey, without butter, and unique like my Christmas dessert ‘Christmas Tree’, rich in fruits and sweetness, I recommend you check it out.
It’s one of my favorite Christmas recipes and I assure you it’s easier than it seems. I’m not a fan of candied fruits, so I opted for the chocolate version which is definitely more appreciated by the younger ones.
The addition of almonds is essential as it gives crunchiness.
Remember that almonds are a complete food, containing many vitamins, proteins, iron, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, Omega3 fatty acids, and fibers, and together with chocolate, they are a super energizer.
For a complete meal, I recommend

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 7 oz milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup corn oil
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chocolate cream

Tools
- 1 Mold Star mold
- 1 Whisk
- 1 Bowl
Steps for Preparing the Christmas Star
First of all, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk with 2 teaspoons of sugar.
In a bowl beat the eggs and sugar with an electric whisk. Then slowly add the liquids first and then the solids, kneading well by hand. Finally, add the chocolate chips and knead again until you get a dough ball. Let it rise, covered with a cloth for 6 hours.
Roll out in our floured mold and let it rise for another 3 hours. After the time has passed, bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes.
Once the cooking of our Christmas star is complete, let it cool. Finally, brush it with the chocolate cream from The Housewife’s Pantry and sprinkle it with chopped almonds and… enjoy your tasting! 🤩
