Ingredients for the Fig Cake

  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 3.5 tbsp butter
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 25 oz figs
  • 1.75 oz walnut kernels
  • 1/2 packet baking powder (8 grams)
  • to taste powdered sugar

What You Need

  • Mixer
  • Cake Pan

How to prepare the Cake with fresh figs and walnuts

  • Wash the figs, and without peeling them, remove only the stem and base. Then cut them into small pieces. Also, chop the walnut kernels into small pieces. Beat the 2 whole eggs with the sugar using an electric mixer for about 8-10 minutes until you have a light and frothy mixture.

  • Add the melted butter and milk to the beaten eggs and mix. Continue the preparation by adding the sifted flour and baking powder. Mix.

  • Add 3/4 of the figs and walnuts to the batter. Mix the batter simply with a spatula. Pour the batter into a 20 cm diameter cake pan, greased or lined with parchment paper.

  • Spread the remaining fig pieces and walnut kernels on the surface. Finish with a sprinkle of granulated sugar. Bake the Cake with walnuts and figs in the preheated static oven at 350°F for about 35-40 minutes.

  • Always perform the toothpick test to check the internal cooking of the cake. Let it cool before turning it out onto a serving plate and decorate as desired with powdered sugar.
