How to prepare the Cake with fresh figs and walnuts
Wash the figs, and without peeling them, remove only the stem and base. Then cut them into small pieces. Also, chop the walnut kernels into small pieces. Beat the 2 whole eggs with the sugar using an electric mixer for about 8-10 minutes until you have a light and frothy mixture.
Add the melted butter and milk to the beaten eggs and mix. Continue the preparation by adding the sifted flour and baking powder. Mix.
Add 3/4 of the figs and walnuts to the batter. Mix the batter simply with a spatula. Pour the batter into a 20 cm diameter cake pan, greased or lined with parchment paper.
Spread the remaining fig pieces and walnut kernels on the surface. Finish with a sprinkle of granulated sugar. Bake the Cake with walnuts and figs in the preheated static oven at 350°F for about 35-40 minutes.
Always perform the toothpick test to check the internal cooking of the cake. Let it cool before turning it out onto a serving plate and decorate as desired with powdered sugar.
