EASY AND QUICK NUTELLA COOKIE CROISSANTS, breakfast dessert with shortcrust pastry, super soft, great to dip in milk or with tea.
Delicious Nutella cookie croissants, originally made years ago with brioche dough, I decided to make them again today with shortcrust pastry, much faster and still good especially for dipping in milk.
The recipe for Nutella cookie croissants is very simple, prepare the classic shortcrust pastry in a bowl or with a food processor, add the chocolate chips then roll out and cut into triangles to fill and bake, in the oven or air fryer.
Join me in the kitchen today, we’re making Nutella cookie croissants.
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Very Cheap
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 8
- Cooking methods: Oven, Air Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 tbsp sugar (preferably brown sugar)
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp chocolate chips
- Nutella®
- vanilla (vanillin or 2 drops of optional vanilla flavoring)
Steps
N.B. Use brown sugar and vanilla flavor for true cookies, if you prefer.
Prepare the shortcrust pastry: pour the flour with a pinch of salt into a bowl, add the sugar, egg, oil, and butter in pieces, and work everything quickly. You can use a food processor.
Move to the work surface and add the chocolate chips, avoid adding them with the other ingredients if you use the food processor, always add them by hand.
Knead well, then roll out on the floured surface and create a disc, use a 9-inch cake pan to cut a perfect circle.
Draw a cross with the knife, trace the diagonals until you get 8 triangles, then fill with Nutella, roll starting from the base to the tip.
Place them on the baking tray and bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes or in the air fryer at 340°F for 8 minutes, turn and cook for another 2 minutes.
Bon appetit
