Ingredients for Puff Pastry and Jam Pyramids

With these quantities, I prepared 22 puff pastry pyramids.

  • 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 0.7 oz jam or marmalade (flavor of your choice)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Tools

  • 1 Small Bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Brush
  • 1 Wheel Cutter smooth
  • 1 Baking Sheet

Preparation of Puff Pastry and Jam Pyramids

  • Unroll the rectangle of puff pastry and roll over it with the rolling pin.

  • With a smooth wheel cutter (perfect for pizza), cut parallel strips to the short side with a width of about 0.6 inches. I used a ruler as a guide.

  • In a small bowl, mix the chosen jam (or marmalade) with a tablespoon of water to soften it.

  • Then brush all the strips with a thin layer of this mixture. For an even sweeter result, you could also sprinkle some sugar over the jam layer.

  • At this point, roll each strip making sure to form a small pyramid. Once you reach the end, seal the end with slightly moistened fingers. Don’t make the pyramids too tall, otherwise they will collapse during baking. I did a test and you can see the result in the last photo of this article.

  • Arrange the puff pastry pyramids on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper and transfer them to the fridge for about half an hour so that they maintain their shape during baking.

  • Bake them in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 15/20 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let them cool completely before transferring them to the serving plate and dusting with powdered sugar. Enjoy! Paola
