Eggnog, English Christmas drink, made with milk, eggs, sugar, cream, and brandy, is a festive comfort food in all Anglo-Saxon countries.
This drink should not be confused with our zabaglione: our typical recipe is more of a cream to be served warm or lukewarm, while eggnog has a more fluid consistency and is served cold.
It can also be prepared cold, but due to the presence of raw eggs, I prefer not to take risks: with the bain-marie cooking, the yolks are sterilized and there are no risks.
If you love discovering typical Christmas recipes from other culinary cultures, eggnog is certainly a must.
