Preparation of the Salted Caramel Cake

  • Start by melting the butter in a saucepan, once melted set it aside to cool.

  • In a bowl pour the eggs, water, and sugar and work with the spoon for a few minutes.

  • Now add the butter (now cooled) and stir quickly until you get a homogeneous mixture.

  • In another bowl mix and sift together flour and baking powder.

  • Add the flour (previously mixed with the baking powder) to the bowl with the liquid mixture and mix from bottom to top quickly until you get a smooth, lump-free mixture.

  • In the bowl where the flour and baking powder were, pour the salted caramel chunks with 1 tablespoon of flour, mix until they are all floured (you can set aside 1 tablespoon of caramel chunks to decorate before serving).

  • Add the floured salted caramel chunks to the cake batter, stir until they are well mixed.

  • Butter and flour the baking pan, pour the batter inside, level it with a spoon and bake in a preheated oven at 392°F.

  • Bake for 30 minutes, always doing the toothpick test towards the end of cooking, once cooked leave the cake to cool in the turned off and open oven.

  • Once the salted caramel cake is well cooled, unmold it onto a plate and bring it to the table to enjoy!
