Eggless Christmas Savory Pie

A very simple savory pie made in a star-shaped mold, great to serve during this time of year as an appetizer or to enhance your savory buffets on various occasions. It’s also a cute idea for Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas lunch, or New Year’s Eve. A rustic dish made egg-free so that it can also suit your guests if they have intolerances. For the filling, I chose cheese and salami, but of course, as I always say, you can enhance or substitute to your liking with other cold cuts or cheeses ☺️

Ingredients for the Eggless Christmas Savory Pie:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 1/2 tbsp butter
  • salt
  • paprika
  • 1/3 cup potato starch
  • 1 packet instant yeast for savory preparations
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 1/4 oz salami
  • sunflower seeds (Or others)
  • 3 1/2 oz cheese
  • 1 jar yogurt

Steps

The preparation of the Christmas savory pie is very simple and quick, watch the video HERE.

  • In a bowl, put the melted butter, yogurt, milk, a bit of salt, paprika or other spices to taste. Gradually add the flour and potato starch, mixing well to avoid lumps.

  • Add the yeast and mix. Finally, add the salami and cheese cut into small cubes and the seeds (optional), then mix everything well.

  • Take a mold of your choice (I chose a star shape, but you can use any other Christmas or non-Christmas shape) and pour the mixture. Spread and level it with a silicone spatula, then sprinkle a bit more seeds on top and bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes.
