Porchetta in Air Fryer

Porchetta in Air Fryer

Every year at my house as soon as the cold arrives, I am immediately asked for porchetta and since this year I’m having fun trying all the recipes in the air fryer, I wanted to try cooking the porchetta too. I have to say the result was excellent, so I share my recipe with you. Obviously, you have to adjust the size according to your air fryer, mine weighed about 4.4 lbs and I cut it to size to make it fit in the basket (my air fryer is quite large 6.5) but if you make a mistake and it turns out too big, no problem, you can easily divide it into two pieces and cook them separately or freeze one and make it later. Otherwise, instead of cooking it in the air fryer, you can cook it in the oven following this procedure for cooking (Homemade Porchetta with Complete Procedure). The porchetta is excellent to include in holiday menus, at Christmas lunch, New Year’s Eve, etc.

Steps

For the preparation of porchetta in air fryer watch the video HERE.

  • First of all, since I don’t want a large porchetta, I cut the piece of pork belly in half and then make incisions all over the surface. Add some oil and massage gently. Add the wine and massage.

  • One by one, add the spices, always massaging. Place the tenderloin on top and add the seasonings. Roll it up.

  • Tie the porchetta. Make incisions in the skin, then add a bit of oil and massage again. Also, add the spices.

  • Wrap in paper and let rest for a few hours in the fridge. After resting, wrap the porchetta first in parchment paper, then in aluminum foil, and place it in the air fryer basket.

  • Cook at 356°F for about an hour, then remove the papers and continue cooking for another hour or so (depending on the size of your porchetta, usually one hour of cooking per kg of meat is calculated).

  • Enjoy your meal!
