Chocolate Christmas Tree

Chocolate Christmas Tree

A very cute Christmas gift idea for our loved ones that we can easily make using items we have in our homes. I used two plastic containers of different sizes to make the tree (actually, these are the ones found under Easter eggs) and made a cone for the top using acetate sheet, but if you already have a cone, you can just use that (I didn’t have one😅). If you like, you can also make it using milk chocolate or white chocolate and color it as you wish. Instead of hazelnut crumbs, you can also use almond crumbs, pistachios, walnuts, or shredded coconut, basically, you can choose whatever you like best! If you want to make more trees, you can easily prepare them well in advance since chocolate keeps well for a long time without problems!

If you like Christmas trees, try making this Cookie Christmas Tree as well!

Ingredients for the Chocolate Christmas Tree:

  • dark chocolate
  • hazelnut crumbs
  • sugar balls (Colored)
  • powdered sugar

Steps

For the preparation of the Chocolate Christmas Tree watch the video HERE.

  • First, we need to prepare molds (jars) to create the tree (I used two plastic containers of different sizes (actually, these jars are the ones found under Easter eggs that I had saved) and made a cone for the top using acetate sheet, but if you already have a cone, you can use just that) and then a small plate to make the base. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave and fill the jars one at a time. Tap them lightly and let them cool a bit.

  • When the edges start to form, empty the containers and put them in the fridge to harden well. Once the chocolate has hardened, remove the molds and trim and remove any excess on the edges.

  • Put a little melted chocolate on the plate chosen for the base and place the chocolate base of the tree in the center. Tap lightly to evenly spread the chocolate.

  • Put it in the fridge to harden. Then gently remove the plate. Attach the other parts using chocolate. Put it in the fridge for a few minutes.

  • Brush one part at a time with chocolate and cover with hazelnut crumbs. Decorate as desired with colored sugar balls and sprinkle with a little powdered sugar!

  • Enjoy your meal!
