Ingredients for Baked Radicchio
- 1 head of round radicchio
- 1.8 oz of breadcrumbs
- 1 pinch of sugar (here's the tip to remove some bitterness)
- 1 pinch of fine salt
- 1 to taste of mixed peppercorns (freshly ground and according to your taste)
- 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

Preparation of Baked Radicchio
Cut the radicchio into thick slices and then cut the radicchio again to coarsely chop it.
Place the chopped radicchio in a bowl and wash it under running water, drain it well.
Now season it with salt, sugar, and pepper and mix well.
Line the baking pan with parchment paper and pour the seasoned radicchio into it.
Season the breadcrumbs with a pinch of salt and sprinkle it over the radicchio, then pour the oil on top.
Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F and cook for 40 minutes. Once done, let it cool slightly and serve! Enjoy your meal!
USEFUL TIPS
You can prepare the baked radicchio in advance and heat it up when needed. You can add chopped walnuts to the breadcrumbs, raisins, or apple pieces to the radicchio. To make it more tasty, simply add pieces of bacon or speck!
