- 4 teaspoons Raw cane sugar
- 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp Ground ginger
- 6 tablespoons Water
Useful Tools

- Baking Tray

- Knife
Preparation of Grandma’s Baked Apples Recipe
Wash the apples well under running water, then help yourself with a paper towel (or a clean cloth) to dry them well without removing the stem or peel.
Using a kitchen knife, make a cross-cut on the surface of the apples, not too deep, about 0.08 inches (2 mm) will suffice.
Place the apples in an oven tray lined with parchment paper with the stem facing up.
In a small bowl, mix the cane sugar with cinnamon and ground ginger and place a tablespoon on top of each apple until you finish the powdered mixture.
Pour the water provided in the recipe into the bottom of the baking tray (this is grandma’s trick to cook them best!).
Preheat the oven to 392°F (200°C) and once hot, bake the apples, cook for 50 minutes (always check the cooking), once cooked, take them out of the oven, serve them hot, warm, or cold, they are delicious any way!
Before serving baked apples, drizzle them with the juice that remains at the bottom of the tray; they will be even tastier.
Once the apples are ready to cook, place them in the air fryer basket and set to 374°F (190°C) and 35 minutes of cooking, start the air fryer with the preheat function and once done, enjoy them in all their deliciousness!
ADVICE
If you want to make the classic baked apples recipe even more delicious, you can add some raisins soaked in rum or chopped and toasted walnuts to the cane sugar; instead of water, you can make a mixture with half water and half grappa (not for kids, though!).
If you want to store the baked apples for a couple of days, once cold, simply place them in the fridge in an airtight container.
