Ingredients
- 2 puff pastry
- 3.4 oz tomato sauce
- 2 sandwich bread (or tea sandwich bread)
- 4 slices cooked ham
- 2.8 oz provolone cheese
Steps
For the recipe, you can use either sandwich bread or tea sandwich bread. My version is smaller, using one puff pastry roll to fit the air fryer basket.
Place a pastry on the parchment paper, add the sandwich bread or tea sandwich bread.
Season with tomato sauce, provolone slices, and cooked ham.
Close with the other pastry, pierce with a fork, seal the edges, and bake at 356°F for 25 minutes.
For the air fryer, you will need to proceed according to your basket’s size. I did half of the indicated doses, cook at 392°F for 15 minutes, flip it, and cook for another 6-7 minutes.
Bon appétit

FAQ (Questions and Answers) PARIGINA with SANDWICH BREAD without oven
What is Parigina with Sandwich Bread?
Parigina is a typical Neapolitan street food consisting of a layer of pizza dough, stuffed with ham, cheese, and tomato sauce, all covered by puff pastry. The “with Sandwich Bread” version uses sandwich bread instead of pizza dough and pastry, and is prepared without an oven.
How can I cook Parigina with Sandwich Bread without an oven?
You can cook it in a non-stick pan on the stovetop. Assemble the various layers of sandwich bread and filling, then cook on low heat with the lid on, so the cheese melts and the ingredients heat evenly. Flip the sandwich to make sure both sides are golden.
Can I add other ingredients to the filling?
Yes, you can customize the Parigina with other ingredients like olives, mushrooms, or bell peppers. However, try not to overdo it with the quantity to avoid the sandwich becoming too thick and difficult to cook evenly in the pan.
