Microwave Asparagus Omelette

MICROWAVE ASPARAGUS OMELETTE a main course ready in minutes made with a base of eggs and microwave asparagus. While the recipe for microwave potato omelette or microwave vegetable omelette are cooked in heating trays like Crisp trays, this is the microwave omelette without Crisp and without its tray. Thus, showing you how to cook an omelette with any microwave. With the same procedure and accessory, you can make all types of omelette, even zucchini omelette. Today I redid the recipe to update the article and the photo, and while the old recipe had whole asparagus arranged in a radial pattern, this time I cut them into pieces and mixed them with the eggs. The result was much better and each slice had a good dose of asparagus, well distributed in every bite.

I found a recipe on the web that “cooks the omelette in 2 minutes”! It makes me smile, and I want to explain something: cooking omelettes at full power in the microwave without using the combined function will cause the egg to puff up and then deflate immediately, resulting in a rubbery omelette that “tastes like egg”. To cook an omelette well in the microwave, it takes 10-12 minutes, and then yes, the result will be perfect.

Try this microwave omelette and let me know what you think, your opinion is important to me and helps me improve and offer you the best content.

Shopping List for Microwave Omelette

  • 9 oz asparagus
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp grated Grana Padano cheese
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 4 leaves basil (or other aromatic herbs to taste)
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (to brush the pan)

What You Need to Make the Microwave Omelette

  • 1 Microwave Tray in Pyrex or Crisp with 9.5-inch diameter
  • 1 Container with lid for steam cooking in the microwave
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Microwave Rack

Procedure

  • Quickly rinse the asparagus under running water and snap off the more fibrous parts. Place them in a suitable container for microwave steam cooking, adding 3.4 oz of water at the bottom. Close with the lid and if it has a valve, open it. Steam the asparagus in the microwave, setting it to 600 watts for 8 minutes. At the end of cooking, close the valve and let it pasteurize for 5 minutes.

  • In the meantime, crack the eggs into the bowl, salt them, and beat with a fork. Chop the aromatic herbs and add them to the beaten eggs along with the grated cheese.

Open the container with the asparagus, drain them, and cut into pieces. Add the asparagus to the eggs and mix.

Grease the pan and pour in the mixture.

  • Place the rack in the microwave, set the pan on top, and start cooking for 10 minutes with microwave + grill combined function, selecting the lower power if possible. I use 450 watts combined with the less powerful grill.

Remove the pan from the microwave, cut into slices, and serve the omelette.

  • In this case, pour the mixture into the dedicated Crisp tray and cook the asparagus omelette with the crisp function, always for 10 minutes.

Rosella’s Tips

If you don’t have a container for steam cooking in the microwave, you can use a Pyrex or ceramic dish suitable for the microwave, making sure to cover it with plastic wrap and poke a few holes using a toothpick.
