Dear readers, today I tempt you with pasta with sauce and meatballs in jar cooking. As you know, it’s not easy to find the right balance when cooking pasta in jar cooking. It often overcooks during resting time or, other times, the liquid spills out of the jar and the pasta doesn’t have time to absorb it. So, you just need to “play” a bit with your microwave’s power settings. With this delicious recipe of scialatelli in jar cooking, I’ll reveal some secrets to cook them perfectly. First of all, it’s important to note that the quality and cooking times in the choice of pasta are fundamental. I chose Gragnano pasta, bronze-drawn with cooking times of 15 minutes. Another trick I’ll share is to stir, stir, and stir some more. Let me explain: cooking pasta in a jar in the microwave is like cooking it in a pan, with few liquids and “risotto” style. Thus, the starch remains in the jar, and if we don’t stir before and after cooking, the pasta tends to stick or settle at the bottom. Therefore, once the jar is closed, we need to shake it, both before and after cooking.
Now, let’s get to the sauce. Do you know the meatballs with sauce and peas? Well, I used three chopped meatballs and three generous tablespoons of their sauce with peas to dress the pasta, then added a bit of water and off to cooking. I guarantee it was delicious!!

How to cook pasta in the jar in the microwave
Pour 2 tablespoons of sauce at the bottom of the jar and then add the pasta. Chop the meatballs into small pieces and add them to the pasta, along with the pinch of salt and water.
Mix the pasta with the sauce very well, clean the rim of the jar, close it, and lock it. Let it rest for a few minutes, while shaking the jar gently on the surface.
Set the microwave to one step below your tested power, I use 440 watts out of 600. Insert the pasta jar and start cooking for 7 minutes*. Halfway through, make sure to shake the jar, protecting your hands with a cloth. At the end of cooking, remove the jar from the microwave and let it rest closed for 20 minutes.
The pasta with sauce and meatballs in jar cooking is ready; you can serve it immediately or consume it within 6 hours. To remove the vacuum seal from the jar, just unlock it, place the jar in the microwave, and set it to the tested power for about 3 minutes. If you want to save the pasta in the jar vacuum-sealed for the next day, just cook it for 6 minutes.
