Ingredients for making chicken and potatoes in jar in the microwave
- 9 oz chicken thighs (boneless rustichelle type)
- 9 oz potatoes
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 sprig rosemary
- 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsps beer (or white wine)
- 2 pinches salt
- 2 pinches pepper
What you need to cook chicken in jar cooking
- 1 Microwave Oven
- 1 Jar 1 liter with thin gasket
Procedure
Peel the garlic clove, wash the rosemary, and put them in the jar. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and cut it into regular pieces. Peel the potatoes, wash them, and cut them into large cubes. Put all the ingredients in the jar and season with oil, wine, salt, and pepper. Clean the rim of the jar, close, and latch it. Shake the jar to mix the seasonings. Set the microwave to your tested power, I use 600 watts, insert the jar, and start cooking for 12 minutes.
During the rest, the cooking will finish, and the vacuum will form. Now the chicken and potatoes are ready. To easily remove the vacuum and heat the jar, just unlatch, put the jar in the microwave for about a minute or until it opens. Serve by dividing the contents onto 2 plates.
During the jar cooking of the chicken with potatoes, it will be normal to hear a whistle. The jars become like small pressure cookers, and the steam will vent from the gasket, emitting a sound. At the end of cooking, remove the jar from the microwave, using a cloth, and let it rest closed for at least 20 minutes.
During the rest, the cooking will finish, and the vacuum will form. Now the chicken and potatoes are ready. Let them return to room temperature and store in the refrigerator for up to 15 days. To remove the vacuum and heat the jar, just unlatch, put the jar in the microwave, first for 3 minutes with defrost function, if cold from the refrigerator, and then for about 6 minutes at the same power used for cooking, or until it opens.
Serve by dividing the chicken with potatoes in jar cooking, and enjoy your meal.
