The tzatziki sauce is a quick Greek recipe based on cucumbers and Greek yogurt. Aromatic and light, perfect to serve with a simple salad of tomatoes, onion, and feta. I love sauces, for example, the feta and yogurt sauce or the yogurt sauce for kebabs, but my first love remains the tzatziki sauce. There are many variations of this sauce, but I find the original recipe to be the best. The fundamental thing to do is to remove the water from the cucumbers, otherwise, you risk having a watery and tasteless sauce. Once this is done, just mix the ingredients and the tzatziki sauce will be ready to keep in the refrigerator.

Additional tips for quick tzatziki sauce
In the market, you can find different varieties of cucumbers. I recommend the Dutch variety. It is less watery and more digestible.
Tzatziki sauce without garlic
You can make the sauce without garlic if you prefer. Instead, you can use a little finely chopped fresh scallion.
Tzatziki sauce without dill
Dill is very present in Greek cuisine, but not everyone likes it. You can replace it with chives or dare with fresh Greek basil.
Tzatziki sauce with plain yogurt
The original recipe for tzatziki sauce uses Greek yogurt with 5% fat, which gives the typical creaminess of this recipe. If you don’t have it, you can use the same weight of plain yogurt, blended with 1.75 oz of feta.
Greek tzatziki sauce without cucumbers
You can remove the cucumbers from the recipe, resulting in a flavored Greek yogurt sauce that goes well with sandwiches and salads. A bit like yogurt dressing.
