Microwave Gnocchi with Sauce

Microwave gnocchi with sauce, a quick microwave-cooked first course. A recipe that doesn’t require pre-cooking the gnocchi, prepared in just a few minutes, directly in the pan. Microwave tomato sauce and mozzarella, a nice sprinkle of cheese and into cooking. This is the recipe to make Sorrentina-style gnocchi in the microwave, but with the same procedure, you can make gnocchi with ragu, maybe using a good ragu in jar cooking. You can make many microwave recipes, but microwave gnocchi with sauce make everyone happy. To cook and gratinate first courses in the microwave, you don’t need the Crisp function or any special accessories. You can use Pyrex dishes, ceramic dishes, and heating plates in the microwave.

Ingredients for Sorrentina-style gnocchi in the microwave

  • 2.2 lbs potato gnocchi
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 mozzarella (about 8 oz)
  • 1 tbsp Grana Padano cheese, grated

What you need

  • 1 Microwave oven
  • 1 Baking dish ceramic or Pyrex

Procedure

  • Pour the tomato sauce into the dish, add the gnocchi and mix. Dice the mozzarella and mix it with the gnocchi. Level the gnocchi surface and sprinkle with grated cheese.

  • Insert the gnocchi dish into the microwave and start cooking for 16 minutes with a combined microwave plus grill function at maximum power.

  • If you have the Crisp function and the appropriate dish, you can cook the gnocchi for 12 minutes, maybe placing the dish on a stand. The heat generated by the dish will speed up cooking times.

Microwave Gnocchi with Pesto

Mix 5.3 oz of pesto with 1 3/4 cups of microwave béchamel, use it to dress the gnocchi in the dish and sprinkle with grated cheese. Cook for 12 minutes, or until the gnocchi are gratinated on the surface, with microwave + grill function at maximum power.
