Jar-Cooked Sausage with Potatoes and Peppers

The jar-cooked sausage with potatoes and peppers, so rich in flavor and yet economical. Cooked in just a few minutes, in the jar in the microwave. This way we can serve a very tasty single dish, but above all, quick. 6 minutes of cooking and the potatoes with sausage and peppers cooked in the jar, will be ready to be served.

Ingredients

  • 3 sausage (links)
  • Half onion
  • 2 potatoes (medium)
  • Half pepper (Medium)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 pinches salt
  • Half teaspoon fennel seeds (optional)
  • 1 sprig rosemary

What you need to jar-cook

  • 1 Microwave
  • 2 Jars With thick seal, 17 oz
  • 1 Bowl glass

Procedure

  • Peel and wash the potatoes, cut them into wedges. Wash the pepper and cut half of it into pieces. Peel and slice the onion. In a glass container put the vegetables and the oil, stir and let them wilt in the microwave for a couple of minutes.
    In the meantime, cut the sausage links into pieces, wash the rosemary needles. Mix the sausage with the potatoes and peppers, add the fennel seeds and mix again.

    Distribute the ingredients in the 2 jars. Clean the jar rims well, close and clip them.

  • Set the microwave to your tested power, mine at 600 watts, for 6 minutes, put a jar in and start cooking.
    At the end, remove the jar from the microwave and let it rest closed for 20 minutes. During this time, vacuum will form and the cooking will finish.

    In the meantime, cook the other jar of sausage with vegetables.

  • Once the jars with the jar-cooked sausage are warm or cold, unclip, put back in the microwave and start at the same power used for cooking. The steam push will easily open the lid. Tip: while the jar-cooked peperonata with sausage rests, shake the jar every now and then. So that the seasoning flavors all the content.

Additional tips

This recipe can also be cooked in jars with a thin seal.
The jar-cooked sausage closed in the vacuum-sealed jar keeps for 15 days in the refrigerator.
