The puff pastry dove is an incredibly easy recipe to make and perfect for serving as an appetizer or aperitif during the Easter period. And why not, also as a themed centerpiece for Easter lunch. It’s simply puff pastry rolls filled – in my case – with cream cheese and Napoli salami arranged in a dove shape using the appropriate mold and baked in it to achieve a perfectly themed dish!
At the end of the recipe in the FAQ section, I have answered some questions regarding the preparation of this savory dish. If you have any other doubts or curiosities, leave a comment or use the appropriate contact form.

Start preparing the puff pastry dove by spreading the cream cheese on each sheet.
Cut each sheet into 6 strips of about 1.75 inches along the longer side.
Add slices of salami (3 or 4 per strip), folding them slightly and letting them protrude slightly from one side to achieve the “puff pastry rose” effect.
Roll each strip onto itself to form a roll and seal the closure well.
Place the puff pastry rolls well spaced (they will expand when baking) in a 500g dove mold.
Bake the puff pastry dove in a convection oven at 375°F for 25 minutes or until the puff pastry is nicely golden.
Let it cool slightly before serving. You can find this and other recipes in the collection RECIPES FOR THE EASTER MENU.

Of course, you can choose your preferred deli meat or cold cut.
Can I prepare it in advance?
It’s fine the night before, but not earlier.
I’m lactose intolerant, can I still make it?
Most puff pastries on the market do not contain butter, read the label carefully.
You can substitute the cheese with another lactose-free option or opt for a plant-based alternative like cashew spread.
