Ingredients
- 4 apples
- 1 oz oz almonds
- 0.7 oz oz pine nuts
- 3 tbsp orange marmalade
- 4 ladyfingers
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- Half cup white wine
Tools
- 1 Air Fryer
- 1 Apple Corer
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Baking Pan
- 1 Mixer
Steps
Wash the apples very well, as the preparation uses the peel too. Dry them with a clean towel and remove their cores using the appropriate tool. If you don’t have one, use a sharp knife. Place the apples in a baking pan that is not too wide, so they stay upright.
Put in the mixer the ladyfingers, almonds, pine nuts, and marmalade. Blend everything and fill the apple holes with the mixture obtained.
Sprinkle the fruit with the sugar and drizzle with the white wine. The apples are now ready to cook.
Remove the grate from the air fryer. Place the pan directly in the basket. Cook at 320°F, using the Bake (oven) function, for 30 minutes. About halfway through the cooking, open the air fryer and drizzle the apples with the liquid formed.
My Recommendation
The stuffed baked apples are excellent warm, let them rest for a few minutes before eating. If there are leftovers, store them in a container with a lid, in the refrigerator, they last a few days. When ready to consume, they are also good cold at room temperature but will be better if warmed up.
FAQ
Can I bake the stuffed apples in a traditional oven?
Sure, in this case, the air fryer is used as an oven; it just speeds up cooking and saves electricity. If you use a traditional oven, bake for 45 minutes at 392°F.
Can I use another marmalade instead of orange marmalade?
Of course, you can use your favorite one.
Can I use other cookies instead of ladyfingers?
It should be a soft cookie, but it can be done; the filling will be more crumbly. As an alternative, in the absence of ladyfingers, I have also used a slice of panettone, which goes very well with orange marmalade.
