Quick Skillet Focaccia

Quick Skillet Focaccia, is a fast filled focaccia, made in no time with no rising times, and we can fill it as we like. We need few and simple ingredients, the dough is ready in 5 minutes, 10 minutes to cook and it’s ready to eat. The skillet focaccia  is perfect as an appetizer or to include in a savory buffet or serve for aperitif, it’s a quick alternative to savory pies and casseroles. Delicious both hot or cold, we can fill it as we like best.

Ingredients

LET’S SEE TOGETHER WHAT WE NEED TO PREPARE

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 packet instant yeast for savory preparations
  • salt
  • 5 oz cooked ham
  • 5 oz emmentaler cheese

Steps

Let’s start preparing

  • Let’s start preparing the quick focaccia, pour the flour, yeast, oil, salt, water, and milk into a large bowl, and start kneading the dough with your hands, first in the bowl and then on the work surface, until you form a smooth and homogeneous dough.

    Divide the dough in two and roll out the first ‘dough with the rolling pin until you obtain a fairly thin sheet and place ham and cheese on top of the dough.

Fold with another layer of dough and seal the edges well.
Heat a non-stick skillet and when it’s hot, place the focaccia to cook for 5-10 minutes on each side until it becomes beautifully golden.
