The recipe for the strawberry shortcrust swirls is very simple, made with a soft shortcrust pastry filled with jam, ricotta, and strawberries, nothing special in terms of ingredients or procedure, but the taste is superb, also perfect for birthday parties, you can prepare them in advance and freeze.

Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 7 tbsps butter
- 1 egg
- 5 tbsps sugar
- Half packet baking powder
- 4 tbsps strawberry jam
- 2 1/2 oz ricotta
- 3 1/2 oz strawberries
Steps
Prepare the shortcrust pastry, place the flour, butter, baking powder, and egg in a bowl and quickly mix all the ingredients.
Take the dough, roll it out on a lightly floured board, and form a rectangle about 8-9 inches wide, fill it with jam.
Work the ricotta with a fork, I didn’t add sugar but if you prefer, add a tablespoon, spread it over the jam.
Cut the strawberries into thin slices and arrange them on the filling.
Roll it up and seal the ends to prevent everything from coming out.
Place the roll in a sheet of parchment paper, place it in a loaf pan, and bake in a hot oven at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
Remove from the oven, let it cool, and cut it into pieces of 1.5 inches with a serrated knife, if you like, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
